La direction du Tour a beau essayer de limiter la casse en écartant les équipes les plus douteuses, le nombre de coureurs ayant les honneurs de l'annuaire du dopage ne diminue toujours pas sur la ligne de départ. Avec 24 coureurs, le Tour du Centenaire reste à l'image des derniers Tour de France.
Avec quelques années de recul, en 2013, on se rend compte qu'en réalité pas moins de 76 coureurs douteux avaient pris le départ, soit 38,4% !
Au classement final , les membres de l'annuaire du dopage sont au nombre de 7 parmi les 10 premiers, soit 70%.
